This month’s challenge: No sweets
This month’s intention: Pay more attention to how often, when and why you eat sweets by asking yourself if something is sweet (has excess sugar) before you eat it, abstaining from it for a month, observing what happens and reflecting on the process
This means…
For the purpose of this challenge, sweets are defined by any foods that contain a significant amount of added sugar or sweeteners
No sweets (eg. chocolate, candy, cookies, cakes, pastries, ice cream, cupcakes, donuts, brownies, macarons, fudge, muffins, tarts, pudding, cheesecake, syrups, rice krispies, sugary drinks, sugary cereals, foods with a significant amount of added sugar)
Fresh fruits and foods that contain some sugar are ok, as long as sugar is not a main ingredient
When it doubt, think back to the intention of this challenge: is there a version of this food that has less sugar or artificial sweeteners that you could try?
If completely abstaining from sweets feels like too much for you at this time, modify this challenge to whatever will allow you to get the most out of it
